Job Description

We are looking to hire an M&PT Engineer (Materials, Chemical Process and Surface Engineering) role for our client in the Aerospace industry located in Oakville, ON for approximately a 12 months’ contract with the possibility of extension.

Job Description:

  • Pay Rate Range: $35-40/hr (T4) + benefits available
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week paid time
  • Location: Oakville, ON, CAN, L6L5Y7

Area of Expertise:

Analysis, research and development of materials and processing engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for products design, or operations of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and equipment designs. Analysis of damage tolerance, durability, design, allowables.

Typical Roles/Area of Focus

Incumbent’s responsibility will generally focus on Materials Engineering, Chemical Processing, and Surface Engineering.

  • Support Global Supply Chain by conducting Manufacturing Planning Reviews, Process Troubleshooting.
  • Support Research and Development by conducting Technology projects, using the Clients' TRL progression process, participate in Technology reviews and proposing new Technology opportunities.
  • Perform Failure Analysis, prepare and review failure reports
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary problem solving teams using RRCA techniques.
  • Support New Product Introductions by providing guidance on Materials and Process use in new designs, participate in design reviews and perform drawing/model approvals.    
  • Support internal manufacturing operations in special processing by laboratory testing, process troubleshooting, training, process development and qualification.
  • Support in production engineering through review of drawing revisions, advising MRB on material and process related discrepancies, and interfacing with customers.
  • Support product and process improvements.
  • Prepare, review and approve engineering procedures and specifications.
  • Other duties as prescribed by the organization

Typical Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS Technical degree w/0-5+ years’ experience
  • MA/MS Technical degree w/0-3+ years’ experience
