Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has partnered with a major aerospace company and is seeking a NDT Level II Radiograph Technician in Santa Fe Springs.

Duties :

Perform NDT tasks to validate product integrity in accordance with customer designs and customer standards, and in accordance with aerospace industry standards.  Continuously seek opportunities for improvement for NDT processes and procedures to keep pace with customer and industry requirements.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Perform volumetric NDE inspections with advanced NDE machines
  • Perform volumetric NDE inspections with longitudinal wave and shear wave hand scan techniques
  • Interpret, evaluate, communicate and report findings to production & engineering teams
  • Interpret and review engineering drawings as required
  • Support the development of NDE inspection techniques for complex geometries
  • Support research and development of future NDE technology for operational improvements
  • Assist in training and developing others within the team
     

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Operational experience utilizing radiographic systems for the inspection of composite materials and composite materials bonded to metals
  • Experience completing the entire suite of NDT documentation including summary reader sheets
  • Knowledge of both and film and digital CR systems and its use
  • Knowledge of ANST RT specifications and compliance to same
  • Knowldege of problem solving tools and techniques including RCCA, 5 Why Basic understanding of lean principles: 5s, Kaizen, continuous improvement initiatives
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
     

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Level II NDE/NDT technician 

OTHER:

  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean.  Maintain housekeeping of personal work area, work department areas, and overall company surroundings to standards of safety and professionalism.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work safely throughout our manufacturing facilities.
  • Lift/move up to 40 lbs. without assistance; or greater than 40 lbs. with assistance from another person or with appropriate lift/move apparatus.
  • Sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed for duration of work shift.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure of deadlines.
  • Able to work full time, at least 8 hours a day and 5 days a week.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends if needed
  • Good vision required (with or without corrective lenses).
