Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer for a client located in Everett, WA. This is a 3-6 month contingent role with a potential to extend. We are among the largest IT recruitment firms in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top-rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for assessing, expanding and maintaining current network infrastructure. You’ll also be responsible for designing, implementation and maintenance of systems/network security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, configure and maintain the company’s servers and network infrastructure.
  • Monitor current systems and maintain availability/operativity of resources.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Ensure local and cloud data safety.
  • Recommend and implement solutions that automate IT manual activities.
  • Provide technical direction to other IT staff and management.
  • Write and execute PowerShell scripts as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of Network (i.e., hardware, service agreements, licenses, configurations, programs, users, etc.).
  • Document user and IT staff policies and procedures.
  • Live by and train on IT best practices.


  • At least five years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing systems, networks and cloud infrastructures. Strong systems security focus.
  • Exceptional networking skills and knowledge (Cisco and Avaya preferred).
  • Experience with cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Experience working in systems in highly regulated industries or companies
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks, both hardware and software.
  • Must have ISC2 CISSP or CompTIA CASP certification or equivalent
