Job Description

VOLT is seeking candidates for a “Network Engineer” role for a Direct Hire position with our client in Seattle. This candidate will direct and coordinate local area computer network activities by ensuring the smooth running of Wintel, network and storage system environments.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
  • Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security; and trains users on software and equipment usage.
  • Responds to the questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
  • Develops and communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data.
  • Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.
  • Installs and tests software upgrades.
  • Collects and analyzes network and memory utilization.
  • Upgrades and applies OS Service Packs and Hotfixes.
  • Participates in periodic disaster recovery testing and annual audits.
  • Consults with IT Services Manager, Applications Manager and staff, and ERP Support Team as necessary.
  • Manages and monitors all system X servers and a disaster backup and recovery system.
  • Travels to Alaska, Georgia and other company locations system as necessary.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least six years' experience in network administration
  • Support of BGP routing, Nutanix Support, Rubrik Support
  • Cisco IOS programing, Extreme switch programing
  • Azure Network support, Azure Site Recovery Services support
  • Palo Alto Firewall and Palo Alto Panorama Management support.
  • VMWare Support and Hyper-V support
  • Active Directory, SQL Server DB Administration, Citrix Administration.
  • Patch Management Administration
  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSE); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); Windows Server Administration; Virtual Server Administration is a PLUS
