Job Description

Volt is looking for an Electroless Nickel Plating Technician in Downers Grove for a Direct Hire

Role and Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of operating an electroless nickel plating line. The candidate must be able to accurately follow written procedures, adjust bath chemistry, and be able to inspect raw and finished product using a variety of inspection methods and equipment

• Prepare parts for nickel plating

• Inspect parts after nickel plating

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the plating shop

• Set, start, and shut down nickel plating line

• Works with chemical laboratory to maintain solution parameters

• Assist in the maintenance of the plating tanks

• Work to ensure safe practices and company policies and procedures are being followed

• Work closely with department and production supervisors to coordinate and schedule priorities on the line

• Reads and accurately interpret shop paperwork, provides feedback on issues and changes

• Performs other assigned duties to achieve the goals of the department and company

Qualifications Requirements:

• Strong Chemistry background

• Strong Mathematic background

• Good Organizational skills

• Plating/Metal Finishing experience

Physical Demands:

• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to wear PPE Work Environment: The work environment is a fast paced, manufacturing job-shop. A variety of chemical baths are used on the manufacturing floor on a daily basis and proper care and focus must be taken to ensure safety. Communication and teamwork are highly valued within the company as well as the push for continual improvement.
