Job Description

Volt is looking for an OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to work on-site with our customer John Deere in Moline, IL on contingent assignment forecasted for 1 yearAs an OFP Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide Assembly ME support and basic trouble shooting for current assembly operations. You will also have the following responsibilities:

  • Investigates gathers and analyze data for identifying root cause for assembly issues.
  • Establishes routings, Wplanner, layouts, tooling, assembly costs, OMS, control plans for revisions to current operations and/or running changes for current product.
  • Conduct specifications audits as warranted to identify root causes of material flow issues.
  • Conduct work center audits to ensure accurate layout, tooling, and documentation of assembly methods.
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities within production in order to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency goals.
  • Identify quality issues, provide containment of suspect material, and develop both short/term long term corrective action - NCCA's.
  • Participate in SERA audits to proactively identify and resolve safety issues.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools • Background in Engineering
  • General understanding of PRO E and Vis-Mock up.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
  • Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality.
  • Experience in Project management and business planning.
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.
  •  Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools

Additional Skills preferred:

  • Experience in specifying torque tooling.
  • Extensive knowledge of combine or front-end equipment.
  • Experience in JDAAT.
  • Experience in WPlanner and FactoryCAD.
