Position:        Packaging Operator

Location:        Winslow, Maine

Status:            18 month contract

Shift:               First Shift – 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday

Job Description:

This position will work within a manufacturing facility and requires one to three years of experience in packaging. The primary responsibilities for this position are labeling and packaging various size vials/ bottles, entering data into SAP, and general housekeeping within the work area. This role is responsible for the following duties:

  • Setup, operate, and clear packaging line to meet efficiency expectations.
  • Replenish packaging materials like wrapping paper, plastic sheets, boxes, cartons, and labeling systems to include ink, glue and paper as needed.
  • Inspect in-process packaging to endure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material in the process.
  • Separate finished packaged items from machine that conform to specification and separate rejected items.
  • Conduct inventory count on finished and rejected packaged items.
  • Monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products in accordance to company standards.
  • Monitor the packaging production line to forestall potential bottlenecks, pile-ups, jams, glue not sticking properly or labels being stamp in the wrong location.
  • Place daily emphasis on meeting production standards, achieving product quality standards and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Know and follow cGMP practices, safe work habits, plant dress code, hygiene standards and housekeeping requirements unusual to the work area and job classification.
  • Perform light-duty maintenance work and general housekeeping in area and assist maintenance or other team members in area.

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • One to three years of experience working in packaging department
  • One year experience operating powered industrial trucks such as powered pallet jacks, stackers, or forklifts.
  • Experience Using SAP or other type of electronic inventory system.


  • It is critical to be on time and available for each scheduled shift.
  • Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must have safety toe shoes, safety glasses and gloves will also be required when working
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Great Communication skills
