Job Description

We are looking to hire a Paint Inspection Technician in QA/QC for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for a 12 months’ contract with the strong possibility of extension. This is an urgent requirement, for the Oakville facility on a day shift.

  • Pay Rate: $30-$32.50/hr + 4% vacation pay + benefits available
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Day shift is 7 am - 3 pm EST (Mon-Fri)). The Selected candidate will need to be able to work weekend every 2 weeks

*This is an urgent requirement, for the Oakville facility on a day shift. We are looking to do interviews ASAP.

In this position, you will be reporting to the Supervisor of Quality Control. As the Inspection Technician (Paint), you will be responsible for the inspection of Landing Gear Parts to APS and Drawing and Specification by visual inspection and/or manual tools/techniques.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the inspection/verification and acceptance of detail parts in paint shop and surface finishing.
  • Will be required to evaluate products for acceptance to specific criteria, initiate rejection process where required, complete diverse paperwork and system records for traceability and movement of products.
  • Complete/close all the related documents/SAP after inspection.
  • Monthly paint test panel verification/ inspection and report.
  • Complete First Article Inspection reports using AS9102 format.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential.
  • Work safely with heavy parts.
  • Apply 5S workplace organization and Just In Time principals for Continuous Improvement.
  • Must also possess good organizational and decision making skills to ensure completion of paperwork and computerized tasks.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD with no restrictions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Have experience in visual inspection for paint defects.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including CATIA models
  • Competency and understanding of GD&T
  • Experienced in Measurement System Analysis (i.e. gauge R&R)
  • Able to prepare reports on discrepancies in detail. i.e. QN preparation
  • Fully competent in the use of tools and gauges to inspect machined parts and features
  • Knowledge of AS9102, aircraft industry requirements, and general inspection practices.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast paced work environment and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with office computer programs (MS Word, Excel) and SAP.
  • Able to take photos and edit it digitally.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and standard work methodologies are required competencies.
  • Knowledge of basic calibration (recall) system and quality audit experience preferred.
  • Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR & CGD requirements
