Job Description

  1. General Information
  • Department: Paint
  • Reports To: Production Supervisor
  1. Job Summary:

Sets up and prepares window and door frames for painting. Sands out any imperfections and seals all gaps.

  1. Essential Functions:
  • Lift and position workpieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them on tables, or paint racks.
  • Minimal grinding and sanding of excess materials or, burrs from surfaces of metal workpieces.
  • Seal any gaps in frames.
  • Replace booth filters when required.
  • Recognizes equipment that needs repair, replacing, or adjusting
  • Requisitions materials and equipment for paint projects
  • Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensures safe operation of all equipment.
  • Works on special projects and performs other duties as needed.
  1. Knowledge and Abilities
  • Able to interpret instructions both written and oral.
  • Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work-related issues.
  • Knowledge of paint spraying equipment and materials is beneficial
  • Able to maintain a 70% production efficiency rating.
  • Able to maintain an error rate less than 10%.
  • Able to work with some supervision, 30% or less of schedule.
  1. Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous work experience in manufacturing setting preferred but not required.
  1. Physical Demands
  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Visual acuity requirements.  The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  1. Work Environment
  • The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
