We are looking to hire a Painting Process Technician for an Afternoon shift position, to work at our Client's site in Burlington, ON for an 8 months contract, through our Company Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Pay Rate: Depending on experience between $29.91 - $34.83/hr (T4)
  • Shift: Afternoon shift from 3pm-11:30pm EST Mon-Thurs and 3pm-9pm on Fridays. The person would start on a Days shift for training.
  • Term: Approximately 2018-09-04 - 2019-05-31

NOTE: as per Ontario Regulation 833, pre-employment and pre-placement medical examinations as well as ongoing medical monitoring are required for employees working in this position.


Summary: Masks, prepares and applies primers and paint finishes to landing gear parts.

Primary responsibilities:
* Masking, unmasking and solvent cleaning of parts.
* Paints parts manually with primer, topcoat, corrosion preventative compounds as required.
* Touches-up and repairs existing finishes as needed.
* Mixes and prepares finishes, checking paint thickness using thickness meter.
* Maintains and makes minor repairs to spray paint equipment.
* Identifies causes and recommends corrective actions for sags, runs, etc.
* Conducts Tape 250 Adhesion tests.
* Applies sealant to bushing flanges and components per applicable sketches.
* Understands and correctly applies engineering paint and finish specifications, engineering drawings, internal procedures and paint technique sheets.
* To work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable regulations
* To follow all company EHS requirements including the use of appropriate PPE
* To participate in all company mandated EHS training
* To only operate equipment on which you are trained and authorized
* To immediately report all hazards or accidents to site supervision
* Perform other duties as required

* Minimum High School Diploma or approved equivalent.
* Minimum one (1) year work experience in an industrial setting (experience with landing gear components preferred).
* Technical aptitude and ability to read drawings/specifications.
* Demonstrated teamwork skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently.
* The successful candidate must meet all requirements under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CCGP) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
