Job Description

Under direct supervision of Volt's Staff Counsel, the In-house Paralegal provides general paralegal support to the Legal Department in various legal matters including immigration, corporate entity maintenance, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, employment law and litigation support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and handle applications and manage all matters related to obtaining and maintaining non-immigrant and immigrant visas and status for Volt employees;
  • Prepare, maintain and file various records including corporate records;
  • Handle, prepare routine annual filings for all domestic subsidiaries including annual reports, state registrations, local business licenses and staffing agency licenses;
  • Draft various documents including correspondence; court forms, notices, petitions, applications, etc.;
  • Perform simple legal research;
  • Maintaining electronic and hard copy files;
  • Management of relationships with in-house business clients and employees from other departments;
  • Compile information and documents in response to discovery requests, including e-discovery; and
  • Handle inquiries and perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years related experience in a law firm or law department; corporate department experience preferred
  • College degree and paralegal degree/certificate required
  • Solid interpersonal and teamwork skills, positive professional attitude
  • Must be independent and self-motivated and driven to deliver results
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Desire to learn and develop new skills; capable and willing to assume progressively increased responsibility
  • Demonstrated intermediate technical skills in Office365, Sharepoint, Adobe Acrobat, Visio and WestLaw; and
  • Extremely detail oriented with consistent follow-up skills.
