JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Pay/Bill Specialist

Job Summary:    The Shared Accounting Pay/Bill Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and invoicing to assigned customer base.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Customers, Web-Tools, branch offices & corporate departments to ensure accurate and timely of customized payroll and invoicing to Volt’s customers.
  • Problem Solve and Resolve issues/concerns as they arise on a proactive basis with branch staff, Customers and management  as needed.
  • Reconcile & Monitor aging for assigned accounts for successful and timely collection.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues, if any, in customer billing and escalate as necessary for process improvements.
  • Communicate with corporate departments, branches and customers as needed to improve processes for customer and business needs.
  • Participate in monthly and year-end accrual process, research questions for auditor as required.
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure all processing deadlines are met, inform supervisor in a timely manner if any deadlines are at risk.
  • Provide Customer Service both internally and externally, in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Provide management with feedback on ways to improve the work environment, procedures and work performed.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned and as required.

Knowledge of:

  • General accounting principles and practices.
  • Payroll, Accounts receivable, billing processes and principles, account reconciliation techniques.
  • PeopleSoft applications or equivalent complex Accounting systems.

Skills and/or Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in payroll/accounts receivable environment.
  • High-School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Data Entry Skills
  • Spreadsheet Software (Excel)
  • Database Software (Access, Beginner/Intermediate).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, peers, branches, corporate and vendors as necessary to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate – both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, to demonstrate strong organizational skills and to handle multiple priorities.
