Job Description

You will be responsible for performing bi-weekly payroll, monthly commissions payments and various accounting and analytical functions to assist in the preparation of the financial statements.

PRIMARY AREAS OF CONCENTRATION: Payroll, Commissions, Accounting and Analysis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform payroll-related maintenance functions including but not limited to processing new hires, termination status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposits
  • Processing payroll and commissions through ADP (multi-state, multi-location)
    • Coordinate completion of timecards with Managers
    • Perform file imports into payroll system from various sources and reviews and verifies payroll data in a timely manner
    • Prepare off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as necessary
    • Respond to routine inquiries from employees concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments and child support payments
    • Facilitate monthly and year-end processes relating to Federal/State reporting
    • Create upload of positive pay checks issued
    • Perform monthly payroll and commissions accrual timely
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare and provide various analysis for internal management
  • External audit requests
  • Utilize SAGE X3 to perform all accounting functions including month end close, reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documentation

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive directly related work experience
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws; ADP Payroll preferred
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel; Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Hands on and experience working in a fast-paced dynamic environment; proactive and takes initiative; maintains a customer service focus and mindset.
  • Ability to effectively manage a variety of challenges and to interact with other departmental personnel to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience processing accruals, journal entries, account reconciliation; SAGE X3 preferred.
