Location: McKinney, Texas


Volt is looking to hire for PCB Layout Designer our client based in McKinney, Texas.

Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Designer utilizing Mentor Graphics Expedition tool suite.   The applicant will have a thorough understanding and track record of experience designing various types of PCB's for digital, power, RF and interconnect applications.   The applicant will follow hardware engineering functional and physical design inputs and generate physical design data based on those inputs. The completed PCB’s will meet industry and client design best practices. The applicant will be able to support multiple physical design jobs and customers.   The applicant will proactively communicate status, problems and estimate and meet commitments.   The applicant will be required to generate fabrication and assembly drawings to client and industry drafting standards.

Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a PCB layout designer.
  • Proficiency of Mentor Graphics Expedition and Cadence Allegro tool suites;
  • Valor NPI knowledge required.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Thorough knowledge and application of industry standard design practices (IPC-2221) (IPC-6012, 6013)
  • Demonstrated experience layout of digital, analog, power, RF PCB’s and flexes
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current understanding of PCB fabrication capabilities

Desired Skills:

  • Keysight ADS experience
  • 5 years RF design background
  • Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace
