An amazing company in Burbank CA is hiring for a Pension Benefits Analyst 

Position offers a salary of $45k-48k plus amazing benefits! and a Pension 

This is a Junior Role, with allot advancement opportunity with in the company 

Responsibilities are; 

  • Correspond with Pension Participants
  • Counsel Participants regarding retirement benefits, death benefits, vesting, etc. 
  • Implement benefit modifications, determined by the Board of Directors and/or Benefits Committee or as mandated by law
  • Process death benefits relative to the death of Pensioners, including notification and payment or recovery
  • Calculate retirement benefits and death benefits.
  • Calculate over-payments or underpayments for a variety of reasons
  • Approve credits and process debits for the Employer Compliance Department
  • Locate beneficiaries, process documents, and notify of benefits for entitlement to pre-retirement death benefits
  • Work with consultants to ensure compliance with Trust Agreement and with Federal and State Laws
  • Process joinders and subpoenas relative to the dissolution of marriage for Participants
  • Process death benefit application materials relating to pre-retirement death benefits and follow-up with any pending items
  • Determine eligibility for Certified Retiree Health Fund coverage
  • Calculate adjustments to pension benefits, due to reemployment, audit, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, etc.
  • Prepare annual statements
  • Prepare and process retirement application and benefit estimate requests
  • Review power of attorney documents and determine acceptability as an authorized third party
  • Verify income and contribution amounts
  • Process marriage certificate and divorce decrees
  • Determine vested status of Participants
  • Plan and prepare monthly departmental task calendar
  • Process requests for Electronic Funds Transfer and ACH reject and return reports
  • Determine monthly ending pension awards
  • Approve SSN merges and changes
  • Calculate and apply Second Retirement benefits as applicable
  • Process cancellation of retirement and beginning of retirement
  • Calculate and process estate payments
  • Comply with IRS levies as necessary
  • Process monthly pension payable's, including the balance of cash requirements
  • Prepare claim denials and draft appeal memos for the Benefits Committee

QUALIFIED DOMESTIC RELATIONS ORDERS

  • Review, analyze and process Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and Domestic Relations Orders
  • Make determination of qualified status of Domestic Relations Orders.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree PREFERRED but not required, with a concentration in any of the following fields: Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business or other related field
  • Experience preferred in pension benefits administration or finance
