Job Description

In this role, you will work as a mechanic/welder assistant in the fabrication of carbon and stainless-steel components and assemblies in accordance with AWS D1.1 and or ASME Section IX piping.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare material for Welders by grinding, fitting etc.
  • Layout, fabricate, assemble and combine various components to complete production and prototype pipe and metal assemblies using blueprints, sketches, photographs, diagrams, templates and other written and or oral instructions.
  • Perform assembly, fit-up and mechanical operations using measuring instrumentation in support of welding and other metal working activities.
  • Operate shop power tools and various machines such as a CNC saw, CNC hydraulic press, drill press, and hydraulic ironworker.

To be successful in this role you will need computer skills, the ability to read blueprints, good organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, positive people skills, and the ability to focus on minute details. Experience with a CNC saw, CNC hydraulic press, drill press, and hydraulic ironworker is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-4 years’ experience working in manufacturing environment with machinists & welders
  • Able to measure & assemble structures accurately
  • Must be able to read & understand blue prints
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must be able to use hand & power tools
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladder and assume squatting & bending positions
  • Must have high school diploma or a GED

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC saw, CNC hydraulic press, drill press, and hydraulic ironworker
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience as a pipe fitter
  • Structural mechanic experience
