VOLT Workforce Solutions is NOW HIRING a Production Planner Expeditor for our partner manufacturing firm in Downtown Indianapolis, IN.
POSITION PURPOSE
- Work with planners to expedite orders through production to achieve on-time delivery targets.
- Work directly with customer service to provide delivery dates, production quantities, production status, orders updates and other items as needed.
- Manage multiple priorities within a high mix/high volume environment
- Communicate throughout the organization ]
- Ability to use data and reports to predict supply issues before they happen.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Single point of contact between CSR and Planning Team for order coordination
- Single point of contact for UK order date tracking
- Manage expedite hot list daily
- Manage past due list daily
- Respond to ship date request within 24 hours
- Maintain planner notes as needed
- Interact with customer service, planners, supervisors and managers as needed
- Make inventory adjustments as needed
- Coordinate and communicate part availability throughout the organization
- Research material availability and respond to Customer Service for new Sales Order and inquiries
- Reviews and analyzes production schedules and plant capacity data to drive appropriate OTD
- Provide timely responses to internal customer inquiries on product availability for expedite shipments
- As needed create and update work schedules across multiple work centers within a production department.
- Adjust and maintain Work Orders as needed.
- Investigate variances and update work orders as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in production scheduling required.
- Experience in a metal forming or assembly manufacturing environments preferred.
- Experience planning multiple manufacturing work centers in a high mix/high volume environment required.
- Ability to effectively analyze production and lead time data to maximize production efficiency and minimize cost with focus on delivering value to the factory team
- Committed to frequent and open communication with multiple team members to ensure most up to date information is shared across all functions –
- Meets daily with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, overtime, priorities, and identified problems.
- Identifies and resolves problems working with other production schedulers.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
- Proficient use of MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong understanding of MRP framework.
- Committed to high standards of accuracy and credibility.
- Ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities and achieve the most productive outcome.
- Customer Service mindset – responds promptly to emails and phone calls.
- Ability to work effectively without close supervision, and to solve problems and work independently.
