Job Description

We are looking for seasoned Policy Analysts to join our growing team.

Requirements:

•Master’s degree in a related discipline, preferred, but not required.

•Minimum of 5 years of related experience.

•Knowledge of NIH policies, procedures and policies. Preferred, but not required.

•Experience supporting organization (s) that work Alaskan Native/American Indian nations, preferred, but not required. •Broad knowledge of biomedical research areas so as to be able to conduct literature searches, to gather new information, identify topics, write and edit in depth technical documents and documents for the lay public. •Excellent judgment in interpreting findings, analyzing data and other gathered information, verifying facts, and drawing conclusions.

•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and image processing software (Photoshop). •Strong communications skills, both oral and written.

•Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and style.

•Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Task Assignment

1: Data Analysis and Reports

1.1 Identifying NIH or other data sources and performing data queries, literature reviews, developing or otherwise finding data needed to prepare reports to be submitted by the THRO.

1.2 Working to complete strategic plan for THRO as a key priority.

1.3 Working to complete annual AI/AN research portfolio analysis.

1.4 Extracting data from various NIH systems and analyzing data for accuracy, and ensuring the data are pertinent to reporting requirements.

1.2 Developing and utilizing quality assurance methods to ensure data are complete, accurate, and pertinent to the task. Takes steps to reconcile data integrity concerns.

1.3 Drafting reports based on data analysis, feedback, and Division/OD/NIH/HHS practices.

Task Assignment

2: Information Dissemination

2.2 Preparing PowerPoint presentations for a wide range of audiences on NIH AI/AN research and career development activities

2.3 Proofreading written documents on technical issues and translating technical and scientific subject matter into clear and concise text.

2.4 Ensuring that written content is clear, consistent and free of bureaucratic or overly dense language.

2.5 Developing and editing content for print publications, Web pages, and intranet.

2.6 Developing brochures and fact sheets.
