Job Title: Prepress Artist

Department: Art Department

Reports To: Prepress Supervisor/Art Department Manager

Starting Pay rate: $15.00-$17.00/hr

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8-10 hours per day and possibly a few Saturday’s, no exceptions. Holidays are our busiest time.

Must haves for the position are:

Attendance (punctuality & dependability)

Attention to detail

Ability to sit and work for long periods of time (work is 100% at a desk)

Proven work ethic (promptness, sense of urgency in completing orders and moving to the next throughout the day)

Availability to work overtime


1-year professional experience using the Pen Tool in Adobe Illustrator

1-year previous screen printing employment experience

Position Summary

Artwork finalizing for screen print.

Required Experience

Must have moderate to high level of knowledge and experience with Adobe Illustrator, as well as a minimum of one year experience with a screen printing process with moderate understanding of registration and file preparation for screen print output.

Essential Functions

Candidate must have consistent good attendance and punctuality. Afterhours flexibility in hours is needed as regular overtime is required due to demand.

Qualifications of an ideal candidate

A contender would need to have a very strong attention to detail, be able to multi-task, and manage time appropriately to ensure orders are processed efficiently. Must be able to work well independently with minimal guidance for productivity. Need individuals who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining focus on each order individually. Attendance and punctuality are required, as well as flexible hours due to overtime demand.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare artwork for film output per exact training specifications.
  • Create separations for multiple color printing per exact training specifications.
  • Matching of film to proofs for accuracy.
  • Matching film with correct physical folders.
  • Reviewing order information with proof and film information to ensure accuracy.
  • Timely delivery of folders to Production.
  • Working with utmost efficiency and as quickly as reasonable. Consistently good attendance and punctuality. Afterhours flexibility in schedule is required as regular overtime is needed due to demand.

Physical Demands

While performing a portion of the listed duties, sitting for long periods of time are required. While performing the other portion of duties listed, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
