Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our client’s team in Iuka, MS.

An Active US Government Security Clearance is required.


  • Support manufacturing of large composite aerospace structures.
  • Work closely with program office, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering and manufacturing personnel to solve production issues in hand layup, automated fiber placement, secondary bonding, autoclave cure, machining, assembly, NDI and final inspection processes.
  • Act as a technical liaison with the customer for design and specification changes.
  • Support and lead proposals for large composite structures.
  • Work in a cross functional team to develop and implement process improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related and 9 years minimum experience
  • Composites knowledge. Hand layup, bonding, and cure experience required.
  • Good leadership and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
  • Functional knowledge of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Experience estimating, planning, and streamlining manufacturing processes
  • Experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Functional knowledge of production control systems (SAP/Visual Mfg/etc)
  • Experience authoring, modifying and auditing procedures.
  • Understanding of Catia V5
  • Experience using SPC to monitor and improve processes
