Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has a new opportunity in the Navigation and Environmental Solutions (NES) Mission Area with key programs located in Aurora, Colorado. We are hiring immediately for  Network Engineer responsible for full life cycle engineering on state-of-the-art environmental, commercial, and sensing systems for government and commercial applications. These projects include the Joint Polar Satellite Systems (JPSS), James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Earth Observation Systems (EOS), GPS advanced operational control segment (GPS-OCX)

 The Network Engineer  will perform network engineering tasks related to the systems’ detailed design and development, as well as be responsible for creating engineering design artifacts. Tasks include reviewing interface configurations, port assignment management, routing protocol analysis, tracing data flows, and providing inputs to the interface control document (ICD) for network connectivity to other systems. Individual should possess knowledge and experience with network technologies, services, operations, and associated security practices.

A current DoD SECRET clearance is required for this position.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of relevant experience directly related to network engineering design and implementation as applied to complex DoD systems

• In-depth understanding of network technologies and associated services, management, and security practices/techniques

• Experience working with subcontractors • Experience developing technical documents

• Experience performing network design to meet requirements

• Familiarity and able to read and understand configurations of: - Cisco ASA firewall experience with Contexts, filters and FirePower Intrusion Detection Systems. - Cisco ISR Router experience with GRE and IP Sec tunnels as well as ACLs and OSPF - Cisco ASR Router experience with OSPF and ACLs - Nexus 5600 and Nexus 2300 FEX experience with VLAN ACLs.

• Familiarity with network topologies and device configurations to support them

• Experience with Data Center LAN design, implementation, diagnostics, performance and management

• Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge/experience with SAN and WAN implementations

• Project management skills/certifications (EVMS, PMP, etc.)

• Knowledge/experience with DoD Network Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and IA hardening requirements and implementation

• Network Certifications such as CCNP • Knowledge of ISP/ASP model and related SLAs

• Experience working at DISA and DoD facilities

• Configuration Management policies and tools

Required Education (including Major): B.S./B.A. in Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering and 8 years of related work experience or an additional 16 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
