Job Description

Volt is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to perform as the Production Lead for the Multi-Function Radio Frequency System product line, with specific focus on subsystem and system assembly and integration.  Experience with design and testing of RF components/radar subsystems

Job Description:

  • Collaborate in problem solving, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and software system issues. This includes quickly resolving issues as they arise
  • Collaborate across team members and provide engineering expertise
  • Collaborate with factory operations on factory flow, timelines, and stand up
  • Prepare Reports and present issues that arise with deployed as well as stateside efforts
  • Prepare and present technical information at to interface with customer meetings
  • Provide hands-on support for various production I&T, unit and system level requirements verification testing, acceptance testing and field activities in coordination of cross-functional (electrical, mechanical, software) troubleshooting efforts, system integration of new capabilities, and field tests
  • Communicate clearly and recommend solutions to team to resolve a wide range of technical issues timely and successfully
  • Travel to support demonstrations and customer tests at US Government field test sites will be required

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of production experience with software and hardware using power systems, electrical components, and software and hardware interface design and verification
  • Experience verifying RF systems and software requirements and developing subsystem and system level tests
  • Experience leading production testing efforts including unit and system level acceptance testing of RF systems
  • Experience with test equipment, test software, troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Proven experience with influencing, communicating difficult technical information to leaders or customers, building team relationships, and communicating with senior technical leadership
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with design and testing of RF components/radar subsystems
  • Experience supporting fielded systems and RF systems transmit/ receive chain, radar processing hardware/software, and built in test
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment, and work outdoors in various weather and terrain
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Science or related discipline

Security Clearance:

Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
