Volt is seeking a Product Development Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Aurora, IL.  This is a contingent position forecasted for 12 months.

Within this role, you will:

  • Deploy elements of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Boundary Diagrams, Interface Analyses, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA’s), A&B High Risk Parts Assessment, P-Diagrams, Noise Factor Management, and Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R’s) and CPI/NPI issues
  • Help deliver a comprehensive list of recommended design actions, special process controls, and validation activities to mitigate high risk areas

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of product development experience
  • APQP experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Detail-orientated
  • Good follow-through in reporting
  • Experience facilitating meetings
  • Ability to travel, when needed (primarily to Peoria, IL).  Training will take place in Peoria, IL.

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and control plans
  • Experience with testing validation
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Experience with VisView/Creo

*** This position is located in Aurora, IL.  Candidates must be able to relocate to this location at their own expense. ***
