Job Description

Volt is looking for a Product Development Engineer

Our client is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Product Development Engineer/Technical Project Manager. The chosen candidate will support growth initiatives for flexible business. The preferred location for this position is Atlanta, GA reporting to a Product Development Manager.

  • Coordinate with customers, product development, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and operations planning to ensure rapid, successful commercialization of new products
  • Work on a variety of teams and be accountable for results.
  • Constructively challenge the current status quo to uncover opportunities that drive; collaboration across functions, accountability and growth.
  • Interface directly with customers in support of sales teams.
  • Coordinate internal initiatives with manufacturing and operations planning.
  • Drive strategic collaboration with vendors and technology partners.
  • Have an internal bias for internal and external customer service.
  • Embrace an environment conducive to innovation and information sharing.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with valued customers and suppliers

Additional Job Description

  • Four year degree in a related technical field (Mechanical or Chemical Engineer, Polymer or Material Science, Packaging Science, etc.)
  • A minimum of five years experience in the flexible packaging industry
  • Product Development experience
  • Experience leading cross functional teams delivering results
  • Technical experience with inks, adhesives, and coatings is preferred
  • Prior experience communicating and establishing relationships with customers is a plus
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus
  • A masters level technical/engineering degree is a plus
  • Travel commitment:  25 – 50% (U.S. Customer/ plant trials)
