B2B Product Marketing Manager - Torrance, CA

Product Marketing Manager (PMM) acts as the Voice of the Customer to the company. This includes gaining a deep understanding of and driving customer engagement with company products, throughout their life cycles. PMM collects this customer information through surveys, interviews, product usage observations and other studies. PMM collects competitive information from company sales force and external sources. PMM processes and formulates this market and customer information such that it is useful in defining product roadmaps and marketing requirements for the products, as well as driving customer product education to enhance engagement. PMM tests and validates product ideas, determines scope for minimum viable product and optimal product or product features. PMM does market testing to determine optimal prices and marketing programs.

PMM leads the process of promoting and selling products to our customers, provides the intermediary function between product development, engineering, sales and the customers and increasing brand awareness. PMM helps marketing and marcom with marketing the product to new prospects, existing customers, and other stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a key member of the Product Marketing staff and be the lead for the Voice of Customer initiatives.
  2. Assume ownership of project management of Voice of Customer studies.
  3. Actively work with product management to develop and manage the product roadmap and related marketing and technical product specifications.
  4. Create Market Requirements Documents.
  5. Conduct industry, customer and product usage interviews and surveys.
  6. Analyze internal and external market, product and customer data.
  7. Test and validate product ideas.
  8. Determine understanding of optimal prices, marketing programs and test elements therein.
  9. Study and addresses strategic questions regarding product offering, target customers, market entry and product pricing.
  10. Assist, prepare and participate in execution of trade show product demonstrations and marketing collateral and information required therein.
  11. Prepare product information and material for sales training, marketing collateral and customer presentations.
  12. Assist MarCom in various social media marketing, online marketing, advertising, and public relations activities.


Experience with machine vision technology, applications and end user markets.

Experience in the food & beverage and packaging industries.

Able to interact with technical staff and background in or good knowledge of engineering or computing.

Experience in managing the entire product lifecycle.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Skilled in competitor analysis, market research, technical writing and product positioning.

Knowledgeable of financial analyses and product positioning.

BSc in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science or similar field.
