We are currently seeking a Product Owner to join our client's team in Spokane, WA. The Product Owner represents the Web team in the tactical development/delivery process and is responsible for ensuring that the functionality is created in the order and manner that represents the best approach from the perspective of the business, and technical teams.

Job Description

  • Provide vision and direction to the agile development team and stakeholders
  • Work within Scrum, Scrumban, and Scaled Scrum frameworks
  • Ensure the team always has adequate amount of work in the backlog
  • Participate in stand-ups, planning, retrospectives
  • Ensure product vision is being implemented by the development team
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the epics and user stories
  • Product backlog refinement and prioritization based on highest value to our customer
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage work across other functional teams
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) facilitation and coordination with test manager or business
  • Conduct end of sprint release planning and triage of production defects
  • Facilitate demos to business partners
  • Work with Chief Product Owner to prioritize and coordinate backlog items, and to ensure overall product vision is aligned
  • Administrative items such as billing and timekeeping


  • Previous working experience as a Product Owner
  • BA or BS in related field
  • In depth knowledge of agile processes and principles
  • Experience working with local and remote team members
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Persuasive and quick decision-making skills
  • Creative thinker with a vision and attention to details necessary
  • Experience using a backlog management application (e.g. Jira, TFS, VersionOne)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word) – Intermediate (minimum).
