Volt Workforce Solutions has immediate openings for Product Support Engineers.  These are full time roles with some being travelling roles and other based in Mossville,IL Or Lafayette, IN with none to minimal travel.  Please apply ASAP to be considered!

Seeking a product design engineering role in either the air/exhaust systems component or turbocharger application team. Key role is to lead the design, development, functionality of components and systems via detailed CPPD with suppliers. This role includes supplier development and can involve resourcing of components from one supplier to another, including foundries. Travel for this position will be from 25-50%.

Education/Experience: A four-year degree in engineering or technology is required. Disciplines can include mechanical, agricultural, or aeronautical engineering.

Skills and Competencies: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Ability to complete common engineering computations. Ability to read and interpret prints, technical drawing, schematics and engineering analysis. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop components and engine systems. Perform CPPD with component suppliers via direct visits, supply chain analysis, and manufacturability.

 

This position can be located either in Lafayette, IN or Mossville, IL. Key Deliverables/Responsibilities: • Produce specification documents to meet engine application and program requirements through collaboration with multiple other internal Caterpillar engineering organizations. Collaborate closely with suppliers to specify, procure, validate and release products to meet all program requirements (emissions, application requirements, industry certification requirements and others) and program dates. Conduct design reviews relating to product design projects. • Responsible for the quality of drawings and drawing wrappers provided to checking. • Produce RFQ’s and purchase order requests to procure parts from suppliers for performance and validation testing in addition to RFQ’s supporting production quotes in collaboration with Global Purchasing. • Collaborate closely with the Technical Center to support lab activities as these pertain to validation and performance activities. • Apply the group’s standard work. Responsible to insure APQP, FMEA, DVP&R and other standard new product development processes are followed in the development and release of product.
