Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for a Production Associate for a global provider of specialized polymer materials and services. After reading the job info below, if interested, email an updated resume (in Word format).
Job Title: Production Associate
Location: Stamford, CT
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Apply gaskets onto frames as per procedure.  Unload acrylic sheets from machine; and load gasket frames into machines.  Follow inspector’s directions as to machine preparation requirements specified by the batch tickets’ “Wash Instructions” checklist;  Execute production and transportation of water cells, and provide clean glass to produce first quality acrylic sheets. A Production Worker is an entry level position; acts in the capacity of a: 1)  Gasket Runner, 2) Unloader;  and/or;  3)  Basic Glass Operator, 4) Handle acrylic sheets – lifting, moving, etc.; 5) Operate equipment needed to perform specific tasks – drilling, pinning, masking, etc. 
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general educational degree (GED); or six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be 18 years or older. 
LANGUAGE SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to  communicate clearly with supervisor and other employees.
MATH SKILL ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Possess average math and reading skills.  Must be able to  understand sizes and measurements.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to make decisions based upon facts and act upon those decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE UNLOADER PRODUCTION WORKER:
•    Responsible to identify gasket sizes and types, and know the various types of frames.
•    Know the different techniques used to load gaskets and unload acrylic sheets, including use of manual material handling equipment, air blow equipment and gasket cutting knives, know the techniques for applying and removing polish to the glass; 
•    Building water cells.
•    Regular walk and bending: 1) Gasket Runner, 2) Unloader, and/or; 3) Basic Glass Operator.
•    Hazardous materials are handled occasionally.
Work Schedule:
1st Shift: 8am - 4pm
