Job Description

M-F 1pm-9:30pm

Job Summary:

Responsible for compounding, formulating, mixing and dispensing materials used for daily production.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and set up all necessary manufacturing compounding equipment.
  • Compound materials by mixing the ingredients per formulas and written procedures.
  • Properly operate necessary equipment (i.e. mixers, ovens, rollers, scales, etc.)
  • Draw samples to conduct quality testing.
  • Utilize Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when filling out forms and other documentation.
  • Identify product that does not meet specifications and notify supervisor immediately.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Manufacturing Engineer and/or QC Supervisor.
  • Communicate maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting needs to the Manufacturing Engineer and/or Production Manager.
  • Adjust product when necessary by following formulas and procedures.
  • Safely operate pneumatic lift to dispense materials.
  • Keep compounding area clean at all times in preparation for planned and unplanned tours and audits. Clean machines and accessories between batches to maintain product quality and to avoid contamination.
  • Maintain inventory organization by constantly moving materials so they can be utilized efficiently. Pull materials by using the FIFO method.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to follow formulas, procedures and equipment instructions.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) used in formulations and weighing.
  • Accurate and legible record keeping skills.
  • Problem solving skills to adjust and correct formulation errors.
  • Manage multiple tasks to completion simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually.  Ability to stand, walk and reach forward and overhead frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Close vision required to use microscope, read documents, and operate copy machine.  Distance vision required to drive an automobile, if driving is a requirement of the job.
  • Work environment is indoors and may or may not be climate controlled.  Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels as found in a light industrial environment and office environment.
