Job Description

We are looking to hire a Production Control Analyst (Materials Planning) for our Client in Cambridge, ON for approximately a 6 months' assignment with the possibility of extension, through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Shift: Day Shift Monday to Friday at 40 hours paid time per week (8am-4:30pm EST)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Control Analyst is responsible for managing materials and scheduling production lines to meet business and customer service goals. As an individual contributor, the expectation is that you will use proven leadership and change management skills to drive improvements in business performance related to inventory investment and production scheduling.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and implement the materials plan supporting the master production schedule in accordance with actual customer demand.
• Updates plant SAP material records as required (lot size, safety stocks, reorder points, lead times, etc.).
Follow-up with suppliers on component availability related issues/concerns to ensure shipment and on-time performance to support production requirements
• Use business metrics in order to evaluate and recommend actions required to achieve Inventory Objectives.
• Schedule work orders based on plant/line capacity to maximize the plant/line labor absorption
• Analyze and drive pertinent KPI’s, as well as, lead and implement plant-specific improvement activities using Continuous Improvement (Lean, TQM, APICS) methodologies
• Plan and control the manufacturing schedule to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, resource/capacity utilization and low inventory investment.
• Engaging effectively with Project Management & Engineering, Supply Chain Planning and Operations to facilitate the Master Schedule reflecting orders based on material/capacity availability.
• Ability to articulate/demonstrate how data drives decisions

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• University degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or Operations
• Post-secondary education in materials management, CPIM, CIRM, CPP, APICS certification or equivalent is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• 1-2 years’ experience in production and inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated high proficiency of computer skills including working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP (preferred). Data Analysis and Data mining is important for this role. KPIs  - inventory levels and metrics are measured in this role.
