Job Description

Immediate opening for a Direct Hire Production Manager!

JOB OBJECTIVE: To oversee the daily operations of the production facility, monitor and control inventory levels, forecast sales and balance daily workloads, and to schedule production and necessary personnel for daily production needs. Must ensure consistent quality of perishable food products through the sustained management of production employees while executing all company standards and operating procedures to maximize profitability and ensure achievement of all goals.


SCOPE: Directly supervise production planning, preparation, and sanitation teams and indirectly supervise logistics and warehouse teams and their day to day functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Monitor all accounting related to production data entries
• Manage the balancing of all inventory to minimize product shortages or production overages
• Manage daily inventory journals and report product losses
• Must work closely with logistics team to ensure there is sufficient packaging material for daily production runs
• Assist in the protection of finished goods inventory assets of the Company and control all inbound and outbound deliveries
• Manage and maintain the cycle count program and the accurate counting of materials and finished product complete physical inventory count; oversee proper disposal of surplus material or scrap products
• Responsible for checking and approving all pasteurization charts

Provide a wide range of production administration related tasks which include but are not limited to: entering daily milk tags, ensuring all refrigerator and freezer temperature logs are properly maintained preparing and completing data entry reports; ensuring data entry of all finished goods ; ensuring that milk and other ingredients are properly rotated
• Minimize product loss
• Minimize overtime
• Monitor and control product weights and measures
• Ensure that robust and effective production -related safety, security, and regulatory employee training programs are maintained
• Responsible for ensuring that the production facility, shipping and receiving, refrigerated and freezer areas are kept clean and free of hazards, and are working properly, reporting any issues immediately
• Participate in operations and safety meetings and attend other meetings as requested
• Responsible for the training and development of the Production Supervisors and Production Line Chiefs
• Oversee the yearly employee performance evaluation program
• Have good communication with all team members, guiding them with a positive disposition and high quality work ethic
• Safely operate and enforce safe operation of all forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks
• Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and any/all established processes , whether established by their manager, by the company or by law as well as assist with the communication, training, and enforcement of these
• Must work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, security and emergency requirements that are communicated to you, whether established by your manager, by the company or by law

Must work in conjunction with Operations Safety Coordinator to ensure the communication, training, and enforcement of any/all safety policies, Code of Safety, and any all safety concerns and hazards
• Must comply with all Company policies communicated to you through your Employee Manual, trainings, notice boards or other postings, or by a member of management as well as ensure the communication, training, and enforcement of these policies
• Communicate companywide sustainability goals to production team and logistics teams and manage resources to ensure that work is produced in the most sustainable manner and Companywide sustainability goals are met or exceeded
• Must maintain excellent attendance • Must be flexible to work different shifts as business needs arise • Other job functions as requested


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Prefer a high school diploma or relevant college certifications
• Previous food production experience, preferably in a management capacity
• Milk Pasteurizer license is required for this position; successful completion of licensing exam with 60 days of date of hire
• Schedule flexibility and ability to be on-call after hours, on weekends and holidays in order to support the needs of a 24/7 production facility

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. • Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and stooping, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. – Repetitive at times. • Full organoleptic (sight, smell, taste) as well as audio and vocal senses are necessary to evaluate and make sound decisions on product quality and production processes • The ability to climb and balance is essential
• Ability to withstand temperatures ranging from -10° to 100° Fahrenheit • Working in cold, wet, humid environments • Ability to work in high allergen environments • Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing and warehouse machinery up to 90 decibels • Ability to lift, hold and/or carry 55 pounds, unassisted • Ability to work on a computer and look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
