Location: Avon Lake, OH

Job Description

Position is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment which blends/mixes/packages/transports liquid or dry chemicals that comprise customer products. Position ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.

•Perform cleaning and simple maintenance procedures on equipment.
•Interpret job packet instructions in order to setup the correct augers, adapters, dies, and packaging materials.  
•Identify the correct raw materials from the job packet (ie. plastic resins, color concentrates, flame retardants, etc.)
•Load raw materials into feed augers and perform rate calibration.
•Startup extrusion line and maintain all settings within tolerance (temperatures, pressures, RPMs,  rates, etc.) 
•Monitor and adjust extruder settings to meet quality requirements  (Troubleshooting)
•Identify the correct packaging from the job packet (boxes, drums, bags)
•Package and label finished products for shipment
•Document time and quality checks on forms provided in the job packet
•Clean and maintain work area daily.

Required Education:
•     Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•    Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
•    Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
•    Must be able to effectively communicate in English one-on-one and in small group situations.
•    Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, spatula, barrel cart, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/blender machinery and computer equipment.
•    Good Troubleshooting Skills – Mechanical and Computer
•    Hands-on Mechanical Ability
•    Outgoing/Ambitious
•    Able to work effectively in a team environment
•    Safety and Quality conscious 
Required Length & Type of Experience:
•         3 years of directly applicable plastics compounding experience.

Required Certification, Licenses, Registration
•         May require obtainment of a Fork Lift Operator's License.
