Job Description

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Production Scheduler who has experience in manufacturing environment ideally in the metal industry (casting, forging, machining). The ffunctional responsibilities are to develop a master production plan to satisfy customer demand and business financial goals while regulating the orderly movement of products through the entire manufacturing process (from order entry to shipping), utilizing efficiently manufacturing capacity and carrying minimum effective inventory

 Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule covering each step of the manufacturing process (integrated or not in an ERP system)
  2. Develop and maintain a capacity model to establish an achievable production utilization plan (machine and man hour) and a consumable requirement plan based on a 12-month rolling sales forecast
  3. Enter potential orders in Master Production Schedule in ERP system to reserve production capacity and provide manufacturing lead time for quotation purpose
  4. Enter firm orders in ERP system and confirm delivery commitments to sales
  5. Identify and elevate to Operations and Sales management in a timely fashion any potential production problem (labor,equipment and material) exposing delivery commitments
  6. Develop and maintain planning metrics (on-time delivery in full, Work in Progress inventory, manufacturing lead time)
  7. Provide a consumable requirement plan to Purchasing Manager to control optimum stock.
  8. Establish Standard Operating Procedures to cover all the tasks of the Master Production Scheduler
  9. Work to reduce the cost of sales by recommending improvements to procedures, contracts and agreements.
  10. Support initiatives aimed at improving current business processes across the Superalloys Division
  11. Adhere to the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Practises and Procedures always.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Production Planning
  2. APICS certification or equivalent professional certification
  3. 3 to 5 years in manufacturing environment ideally in the metal industry (casting, forging, machining)
