Volt Workforce Solutions in partnership with a leading manufacturer is looking for a dynamic Production Planner!  

Job Duties:

Work with management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve runtime.

Plan production tasks and schedules according to customer orders.

Develop and review production plan with Managers for approval.

Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.

Escalate complex issues to Manager for resolution.

Investigate production problem, analyze root causes and provide solutions.

Communicate production status to Mangers and Customers on regular basis.

Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations.

Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed.

Coordinate with Managers in planning and implementing engineering changes in production lines.

Plan inventory management processes to avoid shortages and excess inventory via cycle counts and inventory reports.

Monitor production/batch tickets progress and work with Quality Control to ensure final product meets rPlanet Earth standards and customer specifications.

Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.

Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines.

Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, transportation, personnel schedules, or purchase orders.


  • High school diploma
  • Further education, AA diploma or University Degree preferred
  • ? 3-5 years of proven experience as production planner

    ? Excellent knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

    ? Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)

    ? Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems: Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne; Sage MAS 90; SAP

    ? Strong math skills and statistics

    ? Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

    ? Excellent communication abilities
