Job Description

Great permanent placement opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor with Food Manufacturing industry experience to join an amazing team in Buena Park Ca.

This is a 2nd shift opportunity working 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM with flexibility to cover for other employees and management when needed.  

This work environment is cold, working in a cooler, because the food that is being packaged needs to be refrigerated. 

Must have 5 years of  food manufacturing and safety experience supervising production teams of 50+ employees. 

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the daily monitoring of raw material, manufacturing process, and finished product quality, running 3-6 production lines. 

Responsibilities; 

  • Assist in development and implementation of procedures and practices to ensure our products are free of Food Safety Hazards. 
  • Report any Food Safety / Quality or security risks observed. 
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a qualified staff and efficient performance for your team.
  • Review analytical data regularly to ensure quality & production are efficient. 
  • Manage any product or raw material that does not meet established specifications or practices. 
  • Enforce GMP rules and participate in regular facility audits.
  • Support the plant staff by assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues that may impact food safety or product quality.
  • Provide support for R&D Department in trial runs and product development
  • Provide reports to management on any reported violations to regulations.
  • Assist in development and up keep of training manuals and provide training to production workers. 
  • Handle all the human resource or personnel issues and documentation as requested.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5 years of related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge of HACCP's is helpful (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) 
  • Great communication skills, Bilingual-English/Spanish is a plus
  • Experience managing at least 20 employees, preferably 50. 
  • Must be able to work in a Cooler refrigeration environment.  
  • Must possess advanced math skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
