Job Description:

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Production Supervisor located in Saint Paul, MN. The individual hired for the position of Production Supervisor will have the opportunity to work with a team of highly trained individuals in a Pilot Plant whose focus is on collaboration and innovation.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Creates and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Recommends and oversees maintenance and protection of company property assigned areas
  • Plans daily work assignments and ergonomic rotations for assigned employees to meet objectives. Delegates routine and tasks to staff.
  • Shares responsibility and accountability for schedule, quality of product, and safety with direct reports by setting clear objectives and measures and monitoring results.
  • Recommends and leads development of new training programs as necessary and supports ongoing training programs. Coordinates and verifies completion of training.
  • Motivate and empower employees, teams, and project members.
  • Communicates regularly to assigned employees on matters such as business conditions, goals, trends, accomplishments, policies, etc. Fosters open dialogue within and across work units.
  • Has knowledge of, and consistently/fairly administers and supports company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Trained and knowledgeable on current industry manufacturing methods and can implement these mothers in assigned work areas.
  • Monitors staff time/absence reporting, attendance control, vacation planning, overtime, etc.
  • Actively participate on cross functional process improvement teams and implements lean manufacturing principles in assigned work areas.
  • Leading audits/inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, conducting safety meetings and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years’ experience in a lean, six sigma manufacturing/engineering environment
  • High energy, positive attitude and willing to accept daily challenges in a pilot plant environment
  • Thrive in a team environment and work well with others
  • Highly comfortable with Production Reporting
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and willing to learn new technology and responsibilities
  • Able to work on night shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) rotating 4 days on, 4 days off

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Experience with IMES Production Reporting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
