Job Description

The Production Technician II is responsible for performing various operations to assemble finished products and prepare them for shipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Positions parts according to knowledge of product being assembled or by following drawings and work instructions

Performs specific electrical and/or fabrication tasks involving a number of repetitive steps

Assists with more complex assemblies under the direction of higher-level Production Technicians

Assembles, installs, and tests circuit diagrams

Makes tests of equipment by using volt multi-meter, O-scope, and ampere clamp

Cuts, threads, and installs various types of pumps, pipes, and pipe fittings

Lays out work and measures to locate position of materials from drawings or other written specification

Performs mechanical assembly by fastening parts together with bolts and/or screws and wired sub –assemblies to mechanical parts to build a system

Assembles vessels and performs hydrostatic testing

Visually inspects and completes a functional test at the end of the assembly process and logs into a logbook

Prepares product for shipment, when required, while assuring any customer requirements have been completely documented

Operates drill press, automatic tools, and general hand tools to assist in the assembly process

Communicates with other company personnel in a professional and technical manner in order to resolve any problem situations

Strives to keep assembly rejections to a minimum while maintaining ship dates on work orders

Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans non-defective parts

Assists in locating work instructions and drawings for jobs when they are missing or incorrect

May perform some facility maintenance activities and inventory control

May determine parts required and labor costs to repair customer’s equipment prior to quoting customer a repair price

Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to follow directions
  • Mechanical ability
  • Simple electrical wiring and point-to-point wiring ability
  • Sheet metal assembly
  • Plumbing experience
  • Understanding of basic mechanical drawings

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 year related experiences in mechanical assembly or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds

Must be able to load, unload, and move large equipment and tools

Salary: up to  $15.00 hourly -
