Job Description

Customer Programs Engineer

The Customer Programs Group is responsible for managing programs from quotation (RFQ) through product production release.  This group participates in all facets of the product development lifecycle with the objective of maturing new customer projects into production readiness.

This is an individual-contributor position that supports multiple programs ranging in lifecycle maturity stages.   The responsibilities for this role include drafting contractual documents, publishing schedules and technical reports, enabling and prioritizing engineering resources, and coordinating all communications with the customer.

Individuals in this position will prepare reports, briefings, and proposals for internal and external customers.  Ability to aid in planning lot-level or supplier-level logistics is necessary.


  • Support the Operations, Engineering and Quality teams in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for releasing a product into manufacturing
  • Understand customer requirements for their product and generate scope of work documents
  • Develop and maintain program schedules, on both tactical and longer-term levels
  • Prioritize program schedules and resources based on customer and business needs
  • Work with the Process Engineering and Industrialization teams, assign appropriate resources to execute customer programs
  • Generate periodic progress reports and hold meetings with customers to keep them informed of progress
  • Work with Quality to develop validation plans for qualification per the customer’s requirements
  • Collect technical information needed to support Sales in quotations
  • Participate in Sales calls to support business development and acquisition
  • Work with Quality to support the 8D process for customer returns or quality issues
  • Respond to customer requests for technical information or data related to the customer’s products


  • 5+ years exposure to a semiconductor/MEMS manufacturing and R&D environment
  • Formal educational background (BS degree minimum) in chemical engineering, chemistry, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, engineering management, supply chain, logistics, or operations management
  • Experience setting project schedules and tracking progress through to completion, including regularly reporting on status
  • Experience working through problem-solving methodologies, including 8D and root cause analysis methods
  • Experience working through audit certification and compliance is a plus, particularly for the following standards: IATF 16949, ISO 13485, and ISO 16494
  • Direct customer management experience.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills, be proficient in standard Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
