Job Description

Project Controls Specialist 

This company located in Pacific, WA (near Auburn) which specializes in telecommunication engineering is seeking a Project Controls Technician for a full-time position. The role of the Project Controls Specialist includes overseeing the tracking of all projects within the Engineering Department. The Project Controls Specialist job responsibilities include overseeing and documenting all aspects of the projects to make certain the scope and direction of each project is on schedule as defined by customer expectations and timelines. Responsible for improving processes, performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. Extensive software skills, research abilities, technical capacity and strong communication skills are required. The selected candidate will set up, develops and manipulates spreadsheets as well as maintains Company Job Tracker integrity. Coordinating Project Manager with submitting proper job setup data, forms and attachments. Coordinating Project Manager with setting up invoice, including format, required backup attachments and rates per client requirements, timing, review process, and plan for follow-up on any past due accounts receivable.

Review project metrics regularly and advise Project Manager and Accounting of discrepancies or issues, investigating variances in data as needed, especially concerning invoicing clients, accounts receivable, subcontractor invoices, approval and payments, and other accounts payables. Review and track subcontractor invoices, coding as necessary, and escalating issues to Project Manager and Accounting. Prepare Work Authorization forms for new contracts, modifications and job closures. Review invoices for consistency with contract requirements and rates, report to both Area Manager and Accounting. Assist other Project/Contract Administrators in preparing contracts with clients and sub-consultants, as well as contract modifications, etc. Interacts with Project Managers and accounting staff on an as-needed basis. Follows up and reports on accounts receivables, as well as unbilled issues, as assigned. Assist other project and contract administration staff as needed. Coordinate work with Project Managers, OSP engineers and designers to ensure project is closed out and billed correctly. Work collaboratively with design department to ensure projects are on-track, properly designed and ready for permitting. Ensure the Permitting Department is staying on track and applications are executed properly. Support Finance metric development and reporting. Research and build relationships with new and existing clients. Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships. Bring in new lines of business while nurturing existing ones. Interact with clients and co-workers with a professional demeanor. Uphold a high standard for our brand and product experiences. Maintain good customer relations and ensure effective communications at all time. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate  should Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite.  Must maintain professionalism and a positive service attitude at all times. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent research skills and detail orientated. Sharp listening skills and critical thinker. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Understanding of and commitment to customer service and company core values.
