Project Engineer

Looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with Sensor Background and Experience. The individual should be a self-starter, demonstrate the ability for problem solving, and willing to work and train others. This is a high visibility position with some external contacts that are key to the effective execution of developing solid working relationships with customers, agencies, distributors, and professional groups.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall OEM & component Product and Project Engineering support.
  • Performs design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduled timeframe.
  • Work with Engineering Manager to lead projects, & new product designs.
  • Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resources (labor, materials, etc…) and time required to complete project.
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring of progress of assigned by Engineering Manager OEM & Component projects from start to finish and compares actual cost with estimates.
  • Work with Engineering Manager to modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
  • Prepares monthly reports detailing progress of prototype projects and costs to be reviewed by Engineering Manager.
  • Reviews and studies existing projects through six sigma, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  • Work with Component AE to transition a TBD number of transitions of component jobs into OEM packaging and format.
  • Reviewing final doc package before it is submitted to Engineering Manager for final approval.
  • Works with operations department in troubleshooting problems.
  • Provide Electrical Engineering support and expertise to projects as required; this may involve integrating customer electronics and original conditioning packages
    with our transducer designs.
  • Involves periodic ongoing contact both in person and by telephone with our customer base in order to foster the customer technical relationships.
  • Research new technologies and areas of technology with the goal of expanding or enhancing our sensor offerings.
  • Responsible for generating and updating various procedures and manufacturing methods.
  • Coordinate testing activities of transducer designs and projects. This includes generation of test reports for customer presentation.
