Project Engineer    6-month contract     Teleford, PA

Volt Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Project Engineer for a 6 month contract assignment based in Teleford, PA.  Our client is an international leader in the fields of medical and safety technology.  In this position, you will provide technical support for existing products and new product development (NPD) projects and to lead cross functional teams in support of LCE work packages and other smaller scale NPD projects within the Neonatal Care & Thermoregulation business.

Responsibilities: 

  • Specify and design mechanical components in compliance with products requirement specifications and product quality standards.
  • Lead cross functional project teams in support of LCE work packages and NPD projects. Create and manage project schedules for work packages to meet target completion dates.
  • Complete work package deliverables assigned according to IN4200 process.  
  • Review/approve drawings and participate in detailed design reviews in accordance with SOPs. 
  • Provide technical support to Suppliers, Purchasing, Product Management and Production in order to resolve issues and prevent disruptions of shipments to customers.
  • Evaluate product changes with respect to technical system requirements.
  • Review/approve test related documentation as required including test protocols, specifications, results and final reports.
  • Support Product Qualification/Verification team with assessment of proposed changes to the product and identification of the requirements intended for regression testing due to the changes.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering required, plus 2 – 5 years previous experience in mechanical design, analysis and trouble shooting in an engineering environment
  • Design experience utilizing a computer-aided design system (Solidworks preferred)
  • Project management experience
  • Medical device background preferred
  • Competent in use of Microsoft office and Microsoft Project
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering in product development
