Project Engineer (Civil) Direct-hire

Eden Prairie, MN

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to join their south metro location. This position manages generally moderate to complex geotechnical projects related to transportation projects by providing technical expertise required to exceed client expectations. Projects can range from foundation work to transportation projects that require bridge and retaining wall foundation recommendations, pavement design, and material disposition recommendations.


  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings, participate in business development activities
  • Provide leadership of a technical or project related team
  • Prepare proposals for moderate to complex projects
  • Develop and execute whole scopes
  • Prepare engineering reports giving professional opinions and practical geotechnical solutions
  • Manage projects (scope, schedule, budget)
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies and standards
  • Consult on construction project issues related to subsurface conditions to check/verify conformance with safety, plans, and specifications
  • Coach/mentor junior engineers

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in geotechnical, civil or related engineering
  • Five or more years of geotechnical engineering experience in a consulting firm or related industry
  • Client relationship building, project management and Business Development
  • Understanding of local market and trends in the industry
  • Professional Engineer registration/licensure in Minnesota, or ability to attain within 6 months
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a periodic basis
  • Travel up to 25% of time
