VOLT’s client is looking for a Geological Project Manager

This is a direct hire placement for our client. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support many of the top rated IT/Engineering companies in the Pacific Northwest.

If this sounds like you and you enjoy leading a team, our client, a premier engineering, environmental, and materials testing firm in the inland Pacific Northwest, is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to provide engineering services to their clients in the region.  Below are some of the job responsibilities and experience needed to be successful in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties necessary to provide exemplary service to clients
  • Prepares cost estimates and inspection agreements for accurate costs for inspection and testing services
  • Reviews plans and specifications for projects to determine testing frequencies and requirements to meet jurisdictional requirements
  • Schedules technicians to provide inspection services to projects based on the technician's skills and certifications
  • Makes routine visits to job site to determine overall construction adequacy and to identify possible design flaws
  • Works with the client, contractor, engineer and jurisdictional managers to ensure the final product is acceptable to all involved and compliant with plans

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • B.S. in Civil or Geological Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • PE licensed preferred though not required
  • Excellent communication skills required to succeed in this role
  • Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsibility in the geologic consulting industry
  • Department of Transportation Project management
