VOLT’s client is looking for a Construction Project Manager

This is a 1 year + long term Contingent/Temporary position in Spokane, WA and offered through Volt Technical Resources. Responsible for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of complex construction projects within area of assigned responsibility. 

  • Responsible for developing project charter, scope, objectives, budget, and project management plan
  • Responsible for detailed work plans including but not limited to schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans
  • Maintain project documentation controls systems; identify, analyze, and communicate project performance issues in regard to scope, quality, cost, and schedule
  • Responsible for the integration of vendor tasks and the tracking and reviewing of vendor deliverables
  • Communicate project status on assigned activities to the project stakeholders
  • Facilitate project contract administration
  • Responsible for the tracking of project deliverables and project closeout activities
  • Approves invoice coding and pay application process upon completions of work activities.  

Desired technical skills and core competencies:

  • Knowledge of proper construction means and methods including specification preparation, construction scheduling; cost estimating; bid process management and coordination; budget preparation and contract management and compliance.
  • Preferred BS/BA in Engineering/Construction Management/Project Management or related field. AA or equivalent experience would be considered
  • Preferred certifications include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • 3+ years of project management experience within construction field
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/responsibilities
  • Able to build relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera P6 is desired but not required. Proficiency in one is required.            
  • Experienced in project setup, startup and commissioning, closeout and archiving – full lifecycle
  • Proficient in managing project document controls, including but not limited to Submittals, RFIs, and As-builts
  • Ability to run productive and concise meetings
  • Proficient in Office 365, Word, Excel and Visio
