Position: Capacity Planning Support Analyst / PM (Cloud Infra – Ecosystem Team)
Type: Contingent
Duration: Thru 6/30 (Ext likely to full term – 12-18 mths) 
Location: Redmond, WA

OVERVIEW:
Looking for individuals with supply chain expertise to join its dynamic infrastructure capacity planning team.  The candidate must be proficient in data mining have a proven track record of data driven analysis and root cause solutioning. The candidate will create metrics that show accurate trends, develop analysis reports in Excel, create queries in SQL and develop visualizations in Power BI. We are looking for a combination of both strong analytical thinking as well as project management experience. Additionally, daily operations require strong attention to detail to perform routine processing scripts and manage a high volume of change execution.

Our team is working on – Infrastructure Capacity planning team called Feasibility Planning responsible for ensuring data quality prior to the handoff to execution for all server and Tier I network gear deployed into our infrastructure globally. We test and assure every order is funded, the capacity has been reserved at the datacenter. We identify any blocking factor and drive to resolution with cross functional teams. We provide metrics and executive dashboards to provide visibility.

Our team is critical to the success of capacity deployment to the cloud. Our work is collaborative with other MCIO teams as we are a convergent point for all server and Tier I gear. Our work impacts the deployment cycle time by ensuring quality and reducing rework for execution teams. Our team works very well together and can easily rebalance workload depending on project and volume. These cloud infrastructure knowledge and skills will make candidates more marketable in the future. Top Must-Have Hard Skills/Experience:

  • STRONG Experience in supply chain planning or transaction management, preferably with infrastructure.
  • STRONG Ability to leverage SQL databases and PowerBI to create and manage meaningful dashboards.
  • Understanding and application of key inventory management concepts (Supply Commit, Clear to Build, Open to Buy, WOS, turns).
  • Exceptional Excel skills managing large amounts of data. 
  • 4- 5+ years of overall experience required
  • Degree - Degree is required and strongly prefer Supply Chain or Computer Sciences fields. Will consider other degrees with appropriate experience.

Additional Experience:

  • Experience in supply chain planning or transaction management, preferably with infrastructure
  • Understanding and application of key inventory management concepts (Supply Commit, Clear to Build, Open to Buy, WOS, turns)
  • Exceptional Excel skills managing large amounts of data
  • Ability to leverage SQL databases and PowerBI to create and manage meaningful dashboards
  • Need to be effective communicator both written and verbal ad work with a very collaborative open team environment focused on problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify feasibility of a capacity plan and trigger execution with operations team – including elements like space, power, networking and SKU availability
  • Interface with supply chain, Data Center space management, hardware supply management, deployment PM’s, SKU team, networking to manage and reconcile all issues related to projects
  • Drive root cause and corrective actions to close out process, training or tools arising from the escalations
  • Generate and manage metrics and reporting related to planning accuracy and jitter, supply changes and supply-demand gaps
  • Load execution plan into operations system of record (MDM – MSPOD)
  • Generate and publish forecasts for downstream teams
