Location: Chestnut Ridge, NY

Job Description

The chosen candidate will be helping to build and frame the business case to get full approval from senior leadership for an upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2016 as well as migrating exchange to the cloud. The client is piloting and testing currently. The TPM will also be expected to start build documentation and training materials. The client feels they have the technical piece covered but need someone to cover the administrative work. Manage the process and timeline for the duration of the project (8-10 weeks, 20 hours a week). The TPM will need to be able to make recommendations and own the project. They will also need to present findings and recommendations to leadership. The client has been using the MS Readiness tool.


  • Project Management
  • Creation of Client Project Charter document (MS Word)
  • PowerPoint Presentation for IT Leadership Team and Business
  • Marketing and promotion of Office 2016 upgrade
  • Project management of resources and timelines
  • Detailed communication plan for rollout
  • Detailed Microsoft Project plan
  • Communication/Feedback during pilot testing with testers
  • Assistance with training material
  • Activity tracking – project specific tasks
  • Scorecard type activities


  • 4+ years of Technical Project Manager experience with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, artifacts and tools
  • Ability to independently manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and project team
  • An ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • An ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, project management
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in business process mapping or operational redesign / improvement
  • Experience working with quality management approaches, techniques, and principles to ensure quality
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a polished, professional, and diplomatic image to all stakeholders
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related technical field required. Commensurate work experience may be considered in place of education requirement.
