Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Project/Program Manager!  This is a contingent position forecasted for 1 Year with our client located in Aurora, IL.


This position will be accountable for project initiation, planning, and control of complex projects related to component, subsystems, or process development. This position performs complex project planning, identifies critical issues, and drives the project team to resolve gaps and problems. Incumbents may work directly with different units, suppliers, customers and/or other teams. This requires the ability to communicate information in a concise and accurate manner. Decisions made may affect the project team and its delivery of the project. Specific work assignment may be as follows; plan and lead program and project planning sessions, facilitate project meetings, and run critical reports. The incumbent will function independently in leading a large diverse program or project planning session. Responsibilities also include preparation and pre-work for the session as well as follow up and action ownership. The position will mentor/coach the leadership team and address leadership issues one-on-one with senior divisional and department management.

Typical Day:
Coordinate with Program Managers to schedule and support program control meetings & compression sessions and has the ability to make schedule changes/corrections during control meetings and compression sessions. Maintains and can lead update meetings for program level issues/action logs, risk registers/FMEAs, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, program cost tracking and provide workshop planning, execution and follow-up assistance.


  • Four-year degree with a technical focus is highly desirable
  • Microsoft Project Experience
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- including team leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical and organizational skills.
