Job Description

This position is key to maintaining and developing new business by responding to bid requests and RFI inquiries. The Proposal Analyst is responsible for the completion and accuracy of price and cost proposals. This shall include but not limited to all non-recurring cost estimates, new business proposals, follow-on production proposals, and legacy pricing where price/cost history does not exist. The position also manages the production and delivery of information to internal and external customers.  This individual must be an analytical thinker, a problem solver and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities often shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily in addition to the following and all other duties as they may be assigned:

  • Proactively communicate metrics and project objectives, status, barriers and results to all levels of the organization.

  • Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes

  • Continuously refine and improve processes.

  • Analyze product designs, raw materials, manufacturing methods and other processes to detect the effects on cost with support of the engineering team.

  • Plans own activities and, if applicable, those of employees assigned to assist.

  • Responsible for analyzing and entering requests for customer level deviated costs

  • Maintains liaison with Engineering, Program Management, Sales, Accounting, and Manufacturing Departments for proper interpretation of customer request requirements.

  • Establish and maintain cost data in electronic files.

  • Support government audits/fact finds for government solicitations, as required, to justify selling price.

  • May assist in the training of new employees or provide pricing guidance to less experienced personnel.

  • Will provide guidance and coordinate with procurement team to support supplier proposal activity.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education and/or Experience: B.A. or B.S. in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting or applicable years of experience.
  • Requires a basic knowledge of production processes and familiarity with engineering and drafting procedures.    
  • The Proposal Analyst shall be familiar with the RFP process and price/cost analysis. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to prepare and support compliant proposals, audits, and fact find process.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
