Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Analyst located in Clayton, NC onsite at Caterpillar in Clayton, NC.

Support a purchasing organization in the procurement and sourcing of capital tooling, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.

Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Some negotiation skills preferred.
• Ability to analyze price proposals and other technical data to support sourcing activities.
• Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
• Knowledge of supply chain management
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and/or process engineering orders to support NPI or current production
• Resolve price discrepancies - Supplier payment grief for production and development parts
• Prepare RFQ and initial analysis – Request for quotations with suppliers for commodities and buyers that you will be supporting and conduct initial analysis (buyer dependent)
• Launch tooling requests using web based system
• Launch and Create price increase and decrease requests
• Support on-boarding of new suppliers (setup in Cat system)
• Service parts – Manage parts preferring for NPIs and current products and ensure workload is processed in a timely fashion
• Buyer codes configuration – Work with releasing team as needed to assign correct buyer codes for service/production parts
• Support your respective buyers as needed

Candidate will assess priorities of the day upon arrival with desk work reviewing NPI workload along with current product workload. Access multiple systems to upload and modify data to most current information from suppliers.

Two to four years relevant experience in supply chain management or similar field required. Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline – preferred.

2-4 years of experience in a business discipline; Advanced Microsoft Office skills preferred
