Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for a leading Manufacturer serving the Aerospace, Defense and Commercial Industry.

Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for assisting Sr. Buyer in purchasing of necessary parts, equipment and materials for operational needs of the business.

What you will be doing!

•         Assist Senior Buyer in the purchase of parts, equipment, and materials at the highest quality, lowest possible cost, consistent with (Just-In-Time) on as "as need" basis for operational needs of the business.

•         Assist in expediting deliveries and ensure suppliers accomplish delivery of purchased items per schedule.

•         Investigate and research to find cost savings on all items.

•         Assist in updating records related to items purchased, costs, delivery, quality and inventory.

•         Assist in processing RMA's and CAR's as well as the - follow 0up of processed returns and corrections requirements.

•         Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Mainly computer workstation and climate-controlled office environment.  Does on occasion enter warehouse or production areas where personal protective equipment may be required.

Physical Demands:

Standing, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs. with support and assistance.  While performing the job the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with the hands and arms, stoop and kneel, talk and hear.  Frequently required to sit and stand.

Skills and Education:

•         High School Diploma 

•         1-2 years of testing electrical, optical and mechanical cable.

•         Computer competency in Vantage or MRF system software is helpful.

•         Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.

•         Maintaining confidentiality of company sensitive and proprietary information is also required.

•         Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
